Investing in camera equipment has been a very important issue for me the last few months, and after saving up I am lucky enough to have a massive set of filters and a portrait lens to play around with. Going on long walks with a camera in hand is far more exciting than roaming a packed shopping centre. I’ve even planned a few mini trips around the country this summer to take as many shots as I can possibly cram into an SD card. Choice!

The High Street Guild has decided to usher in summer with a mini fashion festival called First Light. Starts at noon this Friday, will you be going? I am, for sure!

Hello poppets! As you can tell, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying myself lately. My fashion mojo is slowly thawing out now that the worst of winter is over, and I’m really enjoying shooting and editing photos. Here I am basking in the late afternoon sun on my first trip to Waiheke Island. It was a fantastic day, and it really helped clarify the thoughts in my mind and recharge my batteries.
Lately I’ve been thinking about what Foxylicious is really about. Even though fashion has been an important part of who I am, it’s starting to be crowded out by other things like photography, interior design, art, and travel. Usually I try to exclude these topics from my website but now it’s just frustratingly stifling.
It’s time for a new direction. I’ve followed the path of fashion, now it’s time to step off the beaten track and plunge into lifestyle blog territory.
Dun dun duuuun!!!

In semi-hibernation, taking lots of photos. Fashion is taking a back seat at the moment, but here’s a quick preview of what’s coming up…

I’m taking a break from fashion and focusing on developing my mad photography skills. I want my website to showcase my artistic qualities and not just my purchasing savvy. When I first used the camera in a fashion event, some asshole freelance photographer was following me around poaching my shots. He knew it took me a few moments to frame my shots (I’m a stickler for composition) and would step in front of my shot, block my camera and snap away at the subject I had chosen. I’m only a amateur and even I know that's a photography faux pas! So I’m working on framing my pictures faster, creating different styles, and being a bit more bolshie around other competitive photographers.

I have two nephews coming into the world, so my mind has been elsewhere lately. Give me some time to enjoy being a Foxylicious Aunt and then I’ll be back…

As you all know, I’ve established myself as a good buyer, now it’s time to prove myself as a stylist. So in the meantime there will be a decrease in shopping haul posts, and I will focus on outfit posts instead. All my wardrobe budget these next few months is to be spent on camera lenses, so I can bring you the best photographic evidence of my style!

I haven’t been writing lately because I’ve been waiting to have something with a bit more photographic clout to be at my disposal- and now I finally have it!
Give me some time to acquaint myself with this new camera, as it’s a little more complicated than my compact digital. Watch this space…

I finished sorting out my wardrobe a few days ago. I had a couple of plastic containers holding all my bitty bits before, but I think stacking all my cases on top of each other makes for some badass storage. Now I’ve got all my junk in my trunk and I just need to sort out storage for the living room. I’m forsaking the regular retail furniture stores (where you have to pick good quality or decent price) and I’m looking at purchasing flat-packed items from IKEA in Oz and having them shipped to NZ by Myflatpack. If only my country would stop protecting the interests of local crappy furniture stores and put in an IKEA store I wouldn’t have to go through this rigmarole…

The house is at full junk capacity. I’m so frustrated that I’m throwing out furniture as well as household items and clothing this time. I’m too exhausted to think about anything other than getting this done properly so I won’t have to argue that it’s not lazy housekeeping, it’s lack of good storage and hoarding gadgets keeping us from having space in our house. Time to shop for furniture…
