Do you have a fat baby? How about squeezing your new-born into spanx? And if you think people wouldn’t stoop that low to make their child look thin, you haven’t read this article.

Sorry about all the sale posts but obviously the Christmas sales are going into overdrive right now. Evolution Clothing is having a sale in Ponsonby this weekend…

…and they’ll be making an appearance at The Little Big Markets.

Forever 21 Oxfords, Forever 21 Leopard Socks, Forever 21 Striped Bodycon Skirt, Mr K Dress Shirt, Misty Lang Prancing Pony Pendant, Op Shop Bangles, Factorie Silver Ring, Wild Pair Studs.
My husband has been a lot happier this year- he got a new boss who he gets along well with (and doesn’t force his team to work like slaves), and there’s new administration staff that do above and beyond their job (Disclaimer: My husband cannot be held responsible for what I write). For example, this Christmas corporate dinner. Not only did we do something other than the uninspired restaurant/pub dinner, but she managed to get it sorted well in advance so I could book hair/beauty appointments without competing with a thousand other men and women doing exactly the same thing.
I also had time to research what I should wear. I have been on boats before for 21st birthdays and cruises, but not for a corporate event. I decided to go for a formal, nautical look with my striped skirt, dressy shirt, and blazer (not pictured). I also erred on the side of safety and wore smart oxfords so I wouldn’t end up tottering uneasily as the ship swayed about. You could argue that showing leg and cleavage are very naughty but I figured it would only be tasteless if I were wearing heels.

I was psyched to finally have an excuse to visit Pony Xpress, and I was not disappointed. Rachel did a great job giving me a glamorous windswept look (she figured that if my hair did get windswept it would then look deliberate) and she was a really great conversationalist. I also had my brows done at Forever Shine and was so impressed at the service I made them my regular beauty salon.
The Soren Larson was an amazing tall ship (it’s apparently 62 years old!) and everyone sat around on the deck drinking and shooting the breeze while we sailed around the harbour. Then we stopped the engines and had a buffet dinner (the view made the food taste even more delicious) and we watched the sun set over the Auckland skyline. Then we headed into the Viaduct and we finished off the night by dragging all the cool co-workers into a private room at the Brew on Quay for one last drink.

It was the most fun I’d had in ages, and I only wish I’d been able to make a full-blown night of it…but alas, I had a sale to attend the morning after!

Space Woman Shades from Shop Fashion Distraction $25, Nautical Dress from Rainbow Fashion $27, New Look Suede Bow Slingbacks from Army & Leather Shop $15.
Here’s another little challenge I set myself- make an entire outfit bought from one suburb. To make it tricky I picked Onehunga and I ruled out Dressmart as that would make it far too easy for me. I bought the dress and shoes and had put together a cute nautical look, but it felt so vintage/ ladylike I decided to give it some futuristic edge with my sunglasses. The sunglasses are supposed to be a Christmas present from my dad, but I wasn’t going to wait a month to try them out. Even though they technically aren’t from Onehunga, I still think I passed the challenge. And I’ll definitely wear this look again!
If I was half-asleep I could easily mistake this fake morning show segment for the real thing…

Because I love Wellingtonians, I shall inform you that there’s an awesome sale starting tomorrow!

I already have plenty of bags, but if you want one that is good quality and trendy (but not too trendy) this is the sale for you!

I just bought a very nice parka for winter from this sale for only $60…I recommend everyone go take a look!

I’ll be out of town this weekend, but this is great for those who need a nice pair of jeans!
